The color brown is significant to us in many ways. However, its importance is primarily because of the demonstrated characteristics of a B.R.O.W.N. DAD that help to shape and form the lives of children in such a positive way and in addition because of its pristine association with the color of earth.

The color brown is synonymous with all things natural and organic. Men, especially dads who are featured on the website: www.browndads.org are individuals who are confident in themselves and in their ability to make their way. They are confident in that ability of theirs no matter how difficult the presented obstacles

The Founder's Story

Myles Dixson began this tradition in 2000 after becoming a dad. Today, he’s very proud to share that his fraternity formed in 2009 with other Brown Dads who are proud and deserving of the title “Dad”—and these men exist all over the world. Dixson is proud of all of remarkable Brown Dads who are profiled on the website: www.browndads.org.

They come from all walks of life, and he calls them the “Brown Dad” honorees.
